At Video2Slides ("we," "us," or "our"), we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension handles your data.

The Short Version: We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, video content, or browsing history. All video processing happens locally on your device (Client-Side). We do not have servers that watch your videos.

2. Data Collection and Usage

A. Video Content and Slides

Video2Slides functions by analyzing the visual data of the video player in your active browser tab.

• How it works: The extension captures screenshots of the video element to identify and extract presentation slides.
• Where it goes: These images are processed temporarily in your browser's memory (RAM) to generate a PDF.
• Data Security: No video data, images, or extracted slides are ever sent to our servers or any third party. Once you close the extension or refresh the page, the temporary data is cleared.

B. User Settings

We use the Chrome storage API to save your configuration preferences locally.

• Data stored: Stability check intervals, duplicate detection thresholds, and scan speed settings.
• Purpose: To remember your preferences so you don't have to re-configure the extension every time you use it.
• Syncing: If you use Chrome Sync, these settings may be synced across your devices by Google, encrypted according to your Google account settings.

C. Analytics

Video2Slides does not include any third-party tracking scripts (such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.) within the extension. We do not track which websites you visit or which videos you watch.

3. Permissions Justification

To function, Video2Slides requires specific browser permissions:

• activeTab / Host Permissions: Required to access the video element on the webpage you are viewing to perform the slide extraction.
• scripting: Required to inject the processing engine that controls the video player (seeking, pausing) and analyzes the frames.

4. Third-Party Services

The extension generates PDF files using a client-side library (jspdf). This generation happens entirely within your browser. No data is sent to Adobe or any other PDF service provider.

5. Children’s Privacy

Video2Slides does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
