Video2Slides ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. We developed Video2Slides (the "App" or "Extension") to be a privacy-first tool for students and professionals. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your data when you use our extension on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS.

2. Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, share, or sell your personal data.

No Account Required: You do not need to create an account to use the App.
No Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, search queries, or the websites you visit.
No Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics services (like Google Analytics or Mixpanel) inside the extension.

3. How We Process Video Data

Video2Slides functions entirely locally on your device (Client-Side).

Video Processing: When you extract slides, the video frames are analyzed in your browser's temporary memory (RAM).
Image Generation: The screenshots and resulting PDF files are generated locally on your device.
No Uploads: At no point is the video content, the extracted slides, or the URL of the video sent to our servers or any third-party cloud servers.

4. Safari Extension Permissions

To function, the Video2Slides extension requires permission to "Access webpage contents." Here is strictly how we use this permission:

Why we need it: To detect the presence of a video player (<video> tag) on the tab you are viewing and to capture frames from that video player.
What we do NOT do: We do not read your emails, passwords, form inputs, or any page content unrelated to the video player.

5. Data Storage

Any files generated by Video2Slides (such as the extracted slide images or PDF documents) are stored locally on your device’s storage (e.g., in your "Downloads" folder or the "Files" app on iOS/iPadOS). You maintain full control and ownership of these files.

6. Children’s Privacy

Since we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
